The physical properties of oxygen and argon are similar, which is difficult to separate on the chromatographic column. The chromatographic peak obtained is usually a mixed component, which cannot be quantified. Therefore, the separation of oxygen and argon has become a major problem in chromatographic separation. In the national standard GB/T 14605-93 Determination of Trace Amounts of Argon, Nitrogen and Krypton in Oxygen Gas Chromatography, the deoxidizing column (401 deoxidizer) is used to remove oxygen first, and then the detected components of argon, nitrogen and krypton are separated by the chromatographic column before entering the detector, so as to achieve the purpose of determining and analyzing argon, nitrogen and other components.
