学会的成立与发展
中华医学会放射学分会是中华医学会下属的从事放射学科研和临床治疗的、非为利的全国性社会团体。放射学分会于1937年在上海成立。其宗旨是团结全国从事放射学的医学科技工作者，积极推动我国放射学的发展。
中华医学会第十二届代表大会（1937年4月1~8日）期间成立中华放射学会
会长：谢志光教授(1899-1967)
毕业于湘雅医学院，北京协和医院第一个中国教授任主任，创立X线谢氏位

之后因战争原因学会活动终止
1950年8月，中华医学会第十六届代表大会期间成立放射学筹备委员会
1951年3月23日，中华放射学会重新成立

Introduction to the Chinese Society of Radiology
The Chinese Society of Radiology (CSR) is a non-profit national organization, devoted to research and clinical practice of radiological sciences. The society was founded in Shanghai in 1937 and is presently affiliated to the Chinese Medical Association. The mission of the CSR is to foster interdisciplinary collaboration among physicians and scientists in the broad area of radiology and promote the development of radiology in China.
History of the CSR
The Chinese Society of Radiology was formed at the 12th annual meeting of the Chinese Medical Association during April 1st~8th, 1937. The inaugurating President was Dr. Zhi-Guang Xie (1899-1967), who graduated from Xiangya Medical College and was the first Chinese holding the position of Chairman and professor at Peking Union Medical College Hospital. He created a specific radiographic position for the hip joint, which was later named as Xie’s position. The other officials were:

The activities of CSR were halted during the Second World War.
In August of 1950, a committee was established for the preparation of reinstating the CSR at the 16th annual meeting of the Chinese Medical Association. On March 23rd, 1951, the CSR was reinstated with Dr. Zhi-Guang Xie serving its Honorary President and Dr. Shao-Xun Wang being its President.
On December 14th of 1952, the CSR decided to establish its journal entitled “Chinese Journal of Radiology”. The first issue of the journal was published on September 10th, 1953 in Beijing. Professor Shao-Xun Wang was the Editor-in-Chief, and Professors Duo Liang and Mao-Hua Hu were the Associate Editors.
The first national conference of the CSR was held on July 24th~25th, 1956 in Beijing. The third board of CSR was elected with the following officials:

The second national conference was held in September, 1963 in Shanghai.
The election of the fourth board resulted in no change in board members.
The third national conference was held in November, 1981 in Zhengzhou.
The fifth board of the CSR was elected during the conference.

The fourth national conference was held in November, 1985 in Hangzhou.

The fifth national conference was held in May, 1989 in Wuhan.
The seventh board of the CSR was elected.

The sixth national conference was held in October, 1993 in Beijing.
The eighth board of the CSR was elected.

After 1993, radiology in China developed rapidly. The national conference of CSR has been held annually, and a new board is elected every four years. Professor Jian-Ping Dai was the President of the 9th and 10th boards of the CSR, and Professor Ji Qi served the President of the 11th board.
Since 1988, the CSR established 7 subcommittees focusing on several individual subspecialties, including Abdominal Radiology, Musculoskeletal Radiology, Neuroradiology, Cardiothoracic Radiology, Pediatric Radiology, Interventional Radiology, and Radiological Technologies. Later on, the Radiological Technologies subcommittee became an independent committee directly under the Chinese Medical Association. Two new subcommittees were subsequently added: Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Breast Imaging. In addition, a study group on molecular imaging was also established.
To encourage and promote young Chinese radiologists to participate in the development of radiology in China, a new committee named “The Youth Committee of Chinese Society of Radiology” was recently founded.
