中国科学院天津工业生物技术研究所(筹)(Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences,缩写为TIB,CAS,简称天津生物技术所)是2009年3月由中国科学院和天津市人民政府共同筹建,位于天津空港物流加工区,肩负着发展我国工业生物技术体系、促进天津市及环渤海地区工业可持续发展的历史使命的中国科学院直属科研机构。
天津生物技术所以科学发展观为统领,面向国际工业生物技术科技前沿,面向相关产业的重大科技需求,坚持科技创新、机制创新、管理创新和文化创新,坚持创新立所、技术立所、应用立所,加强前沿探索与研究,培养高水平工业生物技术研究、开发与应用人才,加强工业生物技术集成与转移转化,推进高新技术产业化,为天津市及环渤海地区经济社会发展服务。
天津生物技术所包括工业蛋白质科学与生物催化工程、生物合成与微生物制造工程、生物系统与生物工艺工程三个研究领域。
领域一,工业蛋白质科学与生物催化工程。天津生物技术所将大力发展工业蛋白质科学与工业酶制剂的研究开发技术体系,促进工业酶在纺织、食品、制药、化工、环境等领域中的应用。大力开展生物催化与手性合成研究,开发化工原料、医药中间体、农药中间体、食品饲料添加剂等高值精细化学品的高效生物合成技术,以生物技术改造化学工业过程,将降低资源、能源消耗与污染物排放。
领域二,合成生物学与微生物制造工程。研究所将大力开展系统生物技术与合成生物学研究,构建人工细胞合成有机化学品,发展生物炼制技术体系,开发生物塑料、生物尼龙、生物黏合剂、生物有机溶剂与可再生的工业原料,取代石油化工合成路线,减少工业经济对化石资源的依赖,在天津形成新的生物产业与经济增长点。大力开展工业微生物的系统改造,提高氨基酸、有机酸、维生素等发酵产物的产率与效率,大幅提升生物发酵水平与产业经济竞争能力。同时,组合植物化学药物合成基因与途径,用工程微生物细胞大量合成天然活性物质,取代植物化学药的天然提取与化学合成,彻底革新天津未来的中药加工产业。
领域三,生物系统与生物工艺工程。主要针对生态工艺的建立与生物医学工艺工程的优化提升,提高工业过程技术能力,减少污染,提高产业水平。研究所将大力开展生物系统模拟与生态工艺研究,模拟利用生物系统功能,开发生物驱油、生物降解、生物环保等新技术新工艺,促进天津大港及渤海油田的持续发展以及渤海湾的环境保护。开展生物反应器与医药产品制备工艺研究,构建微生物、植物、动物细胞反应器,生产高附加值微生物重组药物、营养药物和添加剂,建立生物产品的规模化制备技术体系,大幅提高生物医药产品的工程化制造水平,建立干细胞规模化培养的技术体系,推进组织工程材料的产业化,促进天津生物医药产业发展。开展生物系统与仿生制造研究,模拟特殊生命体复杂体系,用生物系统中的基本组件(基因,蛋白质等)与生物材料合成特殊功能的生物机器,决胜未来生物产业。
天津生物技术建有国家发改委批准的“工业酶国家工程实验室”、院批准的“系统微生物工程中国科学院重点实验室(筹)”已进入筹建期。天津生物技术所与天津市20家生物技术企业及河北、山东、辽宁、吉林、江苏、浙江等地多家企业进行了广泛的合作交流,建立了良好的沟通机制。与荷兰DSM公司共建“DSM-TIB”工业生物技术联合实验室;与江苏杰成生物工程有限公司共建“工业酶制剂”联合实验室。
天津生物技术所具有坚实的科学基础和较强的科技创新能力,具有组织开展集成度高且综合性强的大型研发活动、有效解决生物工业领域相关问题的能力;建立了科技成果有效转移转化和规模产业化的机制,不断的形成科技成果转化和产业化成果,与各类社会经济组织建立广泛的联系,成为高水平的科技与经济结合、政产学研合作、向社会开放的研发转化基地,人才培养和国际学术交流的平台,实现“政府满意、合作企业满意、老百姓满意、国际同行认可”,成为我国工业生物技术研究领域特色鲜明,具有“一流的成果,一流的效益,一流的管理,一流的人才”的国家研究机构。
Tianjin Institute of Industrial Biotechnology, Chinese Academy of Sciences (abbreviation: TIB, CAS.) was prepared to construct by CAS and Tianjin People's Government together in March, 2009. It is located in Tianjin Airport Logistics Processing Zone, it bears the historical mission of developing industrial bio-technology system and promoting sustainable development of Tianjin and the Bohai Rim.
TIB aims at the scientific concept of development, turns towards the international industrial biotechnology frontier and the major scientific and technological needs of the related industries, adheres to scientific and technological innovation, mechanism innovation, management innovation and cultural innovation, strengthens the frontier exploration and research, mainly solves the biological problems of the industrial development, develops the high level of the industrial biotechnology research, enhances the integration and transformation of the industrial biotechnology, promotes high-tech industrialization, serves for Tianjin and the Bohai Rim regional economic and social development.
TIB includes three research areas: protein science and bio-catalysis engineering, bio-synthesis and microbial manufacturing engineering, biological systems and bio-process engineering.
1. Protein science and bio-catalysis engineering. TIB will vigorously develop the industrial protein science and the research and development of the industrial enzyme, promote the application of the industrial enzyme in the textile, food, pharmaceutical, chemical, environmental and in other fields. It will carry out bio-catalysis and chiral synthesis research, develop the efficient bio-synthesis technology of chemical raw materials, pharmaceutical intermediates, pesticide intermediates, food additives, etc. It will transform the chemical industry processes by biotechnology, reduce resource, energy consumption and pollutant emission.
2. Bio-synthesis and microbial manufacturing engineering. TIB will vigorously carry out the system biotechnology and synthetic biology research, construct the artificial cells, synthesizing organic chemicals, develop bio-refining technology system, develop bio-plastics, bio-nylon, bio-adhesives, bio-organic solvents and the renewable industrial raw materials, replace the petroleum-chemical synthesis routes, reduce the dependence of the industrial economy on the fossil resources, form the new bio-industrial and economic growth point in Tianjin. It will vigorously carry out the transformation of the industrial microbial system, increase amino acids, organic acids, vitamins and other fermentation products yield and efficiency, significantly enhance the level of bio-fermentation and industrial competitiveness. Meanwhile, we will synthesis natural active substances by using engineering microbial cell, replace the natural extraction and chemical synthesis of plant chemical drugs, revolutionize the future of traditional Chinese medicine processing industry in Tianjin.
3. Biological systems and bio-process engineering. We will mainly aim at the establishment of the ecological process and optimization of biomedical engineering technology, improve the technological capabilities of industrial process, reduce pollution and improve the industrial level. We will vigorously carry out simulations of biological systems and ecological process studies, simulate the function of using biological systems, develop the bio-oil displacement, bio-degradable, bio-environmental protection and other new technologies, promote the sustainable development of Dagang Oilfield in Tianjin and environmental protection of the Bohai Bay. We will carry out the preparation research of the bioreactor and pharmaceutical products, construct the microbial cell reactor, plant cell reactor, animal cell reactor, produce high-valued recombinant microbial drugs, nutrition, drugs and additives, establish the large-scale preparation of technical system of biological products, substantially increase manufacturing the standards of bio-pharmaceutical products, establish the technical system of stem cell large-scale cultivation, promote the industrialization of tissue engineering materials, promote the development of bio-pharmaceutical industry in Tianjin. We will carry out the biological systems and bionic manufacturing research, simulate the complex systems of the special life form, synthesis special features of the biological machinery with the basic components (genes, proteins, etc) of biological systems and biological materials.
TIB has "Industrial Enzymes National Engineering Laboratory" which is approved by National Development and Reform Commission, "CAS Key Laboratory of Microbial Engineering Systems" which is approved by CAS has been in the preparation period. TIB carries out extensive cooperation with 20 bio-technology enterprises in Tianjin and many enterprises in Hebei, Shandong, Liaoning, Jilin, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, build Industrial Biotechnology Joint Laboratory (DSM-TIB) together with Dutch DSM Company, build "Industrial Enzymes" Joint Laboratory together with Bio-Engineering Co., Ltd. Jiangsu Jie Cheng.
TIB has solid scientific foundation and strong scientific and technological innovation capability, effective ability to resolve the issues related to bio-industries. We establish the mechanism of scientific and technological achievements transformation and industrialization, continuously format the transformation and industrialization of scientific and technological achievements, establish extensive contacts with various types of socio-economic organization, become R & D transformation base which opens to the public, a high level of technology and economic integration, political cooperation among production, become the platform which provides personnel training and international academic exchange, achieve "satisfied by government, cooperative enterprises and people, approbated by the international peer", become national research institution which possesses "first-class achievements, first-class benefits, first-class management, first-class talent".
