YM-1单盘台式金相预磨机是一种湿式磨光机，它利用各种不同粒度的金相耐水砂纸，对各种金属及其合金的试样进行磨光。采用本预磨机，除以机械磨光代替手工操作提高制备试样的效率以外，还能完全除去试样切割过程中产生的塑性变形和表面加热痕迹，供进一步抛光后进行组织的显微测定。预磨机在工作中，将冷却水不断注入旋转的磨盘中，耐水砂纸下面的水因离心力的作用被抛出盘外，砂纸在大气压的作用下可以自由地伸缩从而紧贴在磨盘上，因而无须将砂纸粘结或夹紧，使用及更换十分方便。预磨机由钢材构成的底座，磨盘、和塑料压制的防水罩及盖等基本部件组成，底座上安装有两个磨盘，可供两人同时操作。
