本仪器是根据国家标准GB/T1723《涂料粘度测定法》的要求设计制造，适用粘度在150秒以下的涂料产品的粘度测量，是一种对涂料粘度进行条件测量的便携式仪器，即被测液体盛满特定容器后，在标准管孔内流出所需时间来标定液体的粘度，单位为秒。
