One of the most commonly used buffer in the polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis for proteins is based on the work of Laemmli (1). The electrode buffer (pH 8.3) consists of 0.1 % SDS, 0.025 M Tris and 0.192 M Glycine. Many variations exist, e. g. 0.250 M Glycine instead of 0.192 M (2).
