我国动物检疫疫病名录先后共公布了4次。第一次世1979年公布的《进口动物检疫对象名单》，包括54种疫病，其中一类疫病32种，二类疫病22种；第二次是1982年公布的《中华人民共和国进口动物检疫对象名单》，包括75种疫病，其中严重传染病（即一类或A类）24种，一般传染病（即二类或B类）51种；第三次是1986年公布的《中华人民共和国进口动物检疫对象名单》，包括86种，其中严重传染病22种，一般传染病62种；第四次世1992年公布的《中华人民共和国进境动物一、二类传染病、寄生虫病名录》，包括97种，其中一类传染病、寄生虫病15种，二类传染病、寄生虫病82种。1992年农业部还公布了《中华人民共和国禁止携带、邮寄进境的动物、动物产品和其他检疫物名录》见表 。
