Effectively removes trypsin from protein digests.
Thermo Scientific Pierce Soybean Trypsin Inhibitor Agarose effectively binds and removes trypsin, chymotrypsin and elastase proteases from samples. This immobilized soybean trypsin inhibitor (STI) resin is an effective tool for removing trypsin, chymotrypsin and elastase proteases from protein digests, either to stop enzymatic reactions or simply to facilitate analysis of digestion products. The soybean trypsin inhibitor, a 20kDa protein, is immobilized on beaded agarose, a resin that is easily adapted for use in small-scale or large-scale affinity procedures. The support can be regenerated and reused at least 10 times without significant loss in activity.
Highlights:
- Ligand: soybean trypsin inhibitor (20kDa protein)
- Support: 4% beaded agarose
- Binding capacity: at least 6mg trypsin per milliliter of settled resin
- Format: 50% resin slurry in 50% glycerol, 0.05% sodium azide
Applications:
- Eliminataing trypsin from protein digests before analysis
- Purifying trypsin, chymotrypsin and elastase 1,2
- Removing proteases from activated pancreatic juices 3
