超顺磁性氧化铁（SPIO）纳米颗粒是一种特殊的纳米材料，它们是一系列由磁性氧化铁组成的晶状物质，该化合物通式为Fe3+2O3M2+O，其中M2+味二价金属，如Fe，Mg，Co，Ni，Mn等，其中最常研究的为Fe2+组成的Fe3O4,铁磁性微粒的粒径一般在0.1-10μm，当贴的氧化物远小于铁磁性微粒是，呈现出超顺磁性，Fe3O4晶体呈现超顺磁性的临界直径为50nm。得益于其纳米直径和良好的磁效应，因此具有某些特殊的功能。
技术特点：
超顺磁，是指当纳米粒子小到一定尺寸的时候，每一个纳米粒子都相当于一个小的磁畴。当无外加磁场，粒子（磁畴）排列无序，表现为顺磁。当施加磁场，粒子按磁场排列，显示出铁磁（但比块体弱）。当外加电磁场时，纳米颗粒可以被外加的磁场方向所引导，而当撤出磁场后又可恢复原先的状态。超顺磁性氧化铁（SPIO）表面具有正电荷，和容易与带负电荷的物质如抗癌药物，核酸等相结合，得益于这些特性，超顺磁性氧化铁（SPIO）被广泛应用于靶向药物的研究应用中。
